Talking To The Moon

The Blogger
perhaps the best

The name is Khairul. Would do fine with Khai or Kerol [kay-roll] - with proper pronunciation that is.

May have caused a traumatic experience to the nurses who were there when I graced the world on the 14th of June, 21 years ago.

I reside at the great eastern side of Singapore. At an estate named after a water containment facility. Go figure!

A left-hander. However, I function more like a right. And sometimes left of course.

Owns a Class 3 driving licence.

Have been playing the saxophone for 8 years. Currently a Baritone Saxophonist in the Philharmonic Youth Winds.

Being and socialising with people occupy whatever free time I might have.

Boredom is sadly pathetic - would be just staring at my ceiling.

And recently, graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts where I pursued a diploma in Arts Management, majoring in Performing Arts.

woohoo!

today was like the bestest day spent with my dear classmates.
gonna get to that later.....
let's do a proper update since
i din really do a good job on the previous one.

to ease my brain from further juicing,
as always, i'll do it chronologically.

SO..
woke up pretty early this morning.
the alarm clock in mom's phone have been allowing me to be on time for school lately.
so credits to her phone.
oh yeah..

i'm now using two alarm clocks instead of the usual one.
heh... to hell with my phone's alarm clock.
but i do set it to provide DOUBLE noise count.
yeah.. been waking up pretty much at the desired time.
kinda happy that i would reach school early.
that means money saved from taking cab to school!
haha!

Oral Comm lecture was at 1030.
it was my turn today to pitch a story to the class.
and unfortunately, i was the 1st to pitch.
ACTUALLY, it WAS a good thing that i went 1st.

side-track for a moment:
pitching a story means to tell ur ideas on how a story would sound like
by providing interesting log lines etc.

this was what i pitched.
i spoke confidently of course. haha!
*aherm*

"Hi.. a very good morning to all. I'm Khairul from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
i wrote this story some time last month and it was only recently that my brilliant story got picked out of the hundreds that was submitted. and i won top prize for it.
so today, the reason why i'm here is to sell my story."

this story's basically about a boy whose life's
been shattered by how both of his parents lead life
after getting a divorce; and in search of a new chapter in his life.

the main plots:
-parents got divorced; mom married a rich brat, dad married a stripper
-were asked to live with both of em'; mom in Costa Rica, dad in New York.
-how life was in school in both places
-etc.

then i began telling the story. i'll type it in another entry some other time.
heh..
i'll remember.. no worries.
asked for feedback regarding the story

and i end it off by saying...
"with that, i thank you for taking ur time to listen to my story."

got comments from my lecturer saying that i did a very good job.
just one problem was that
I WAS STANDING TOO CLOSE TO THE AUDIENCE!
hahaha!

was totally relieved after my turn was done.
phew!
had lectures as per normal.
ended the lesson with my grp's presentation.
and again..
my lecturer thought that my group did a good job
and that she thought it was good.
kudos to Marlyn, Clarice and WeiZhi.
:D

Arthur Soh's lesson was next.
was very interesting...
we MSN-ed in class.
haha!
we add-ed whoever was logged on into one conversation.
and we talked and crapped despite the small gap between each of us.
but it was fun initially.

after lesson, headed down to Marina with
Nurul, Clarice, Jazreel, Jacqueline, Gynette, Mohan, Justina, Roopal, Very, Marlyn.
(did i miss anyone?)
they ate LJS.
i slept. hahaha!
fasting rmb?

after LJS-ing, some went off.
and the rest of us was like laughing our ass off in LJS.
Roopal (she's from India) is such a clown.
she's the MOST HILARIOUS PERSON I'VE EVER MET IN MY LIFE
(besides Muhd Idham that is)

wait till i tell the story.
her RENDITION of CICAKMAN!
HAHAHAHA!
i'm laughing like a retard here.

went to Esplanade's rooftop to play some game.
haha!
left at 5:45 cos a few of us had to head down to Esplanade's stage door for our duty.
did TPO's (The Philharmonic Orchestra) concert.
obtained our pass and met Shirin.
Very and Roopal was in charge of the ticketing.
Me and Justina dealed the backstage.

did a few tasks.
it's alot to say in one entry.
(considering that my entry is already elongating)
PLEASE KEEP READING though!
hahaha!

basically..
i got to see Maestro Lim Yau (the conductor) in person.
i got to watch the Double Basses and Cello doing their last minute sectionals with Lim Yau.
i got to peep thru this window where i can see the whole concert hall.
and there's whole lot MORE interesting stuff that we did.
i must say it was a GREAT EXPERIENCE!

love it and i'd definitely love to do it again.
oh yeah..
we actually told our lecturer, who's a bassoonist in TPO to put us into any concert they're having
as BACK OF HOUSE or FRONT OF HOUSE crew.
so, we're kinda booked for their upcoming performances.
DOUBLE COOLIOS!

so yeah..
met with Hazizi backstage and went home via MRT.
shucks!
its 2AM now.
i better get going dudes.....

and Danial, NOW i know there's such a street called the
"Depress-A-Me-street"
hahahaha!
retarded video bro....

ciao!

"my lecturer says it might be a slipped disc of one of my backbones
and that if its really a slipped disc,
then i'll need to go 6 months of physiotherapy. gee..."
