Talking To The Moon

The Blogger
perhaps the best

The name is Khairul. Would do fine with Khai or Kerol [kay-roll] - with proper pronunciation that is.

May have caused a traumatic experience to the nurses who were there when I graced the world on the 14th of June, 21 years ago.

I reside at the great eastern side of Singapore. At an estate named after a water containment facility. Go figure!

A left-hander. However, I function more like a right. And sometimes left of course.

Owns a Class 3 driving licence.

Have been playing the saxophone for 8 years. Currently a Baritone Saxophonist in the Philharmonic Youth Winds.

Being and socialising with people occupy whatever free time I might have.

Boredom is sadly pathetic - would be just staring at my ceiling.

And recently, graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts where I pursued a diploma in Arts Management, majoring in Performing Arts.

CDC'S OFFICIAL STUDENT
11:59 PM

Posted created on the 28th April but changed the date to 23rd for archiving purposes.

So, 23rd was the most anticipated day.
No, really.
Me and Rene (a classmate) have been wanting to enrol ourselves
as students of ComfortDelgro Driving Centre.
And Wayne so happen wanted to apply together.

Before the enrolment,
had CWS Group discussion in the school library.
Rene waited and were told by Wayne that he's meeting us at 3:30 pm.
Well, by the time my group and I finished our discussion, it was close to 3:30.
Called that bugger (Wayne; haha!) and he said that he's gonna meet Hazizi first,
for whatever reasons.
Told him to report his location, and guess where was that bugger at?
Around my home at Bedok Res waiting for Bus Service no. 5!
which has a straight route towards Orchard,
well,
specifically, just in front of Far East.

Me and Rene had to wait for quite a while.
Both of us headed down to Bugis for stationery shopping.
And man, I tell you.
Rene has a serious fetish for stationeries.
Afterwards, thought of slacking in Raffles Hospital's Banquet,
but on our way there, I had this really impromptu idea.

Our not-so-exact conversation while walking towards Banquet:

Khai: Hey! Is your ATM card the normal one or the Go! card?
Rene: Er.... the normal one?
Khai: YESSAH! I have an idea!
Rene: (in shock and confusion) Er, why?
Khai: Lets go to the Bank! I know of one nearby!
Let us change our card to Go! card!

Rene: Oh, great. Lets go then!

It was really impromptu.
I mean, I had the idea of changing that card long ago but did not have
the opportunity to get it changed.
And so, FINALLY! I've got it changed.
Yeehaa!
The card has my name on it.
Ah, no big deal.
It is basically a MasterCard and NETS all into one card.
The look of the card is just orgasmic.
HAHAHA!
Ok, not till that extent.
(Fyi, you have to be 18 to apply for that card)

Called that bugger.
He was approaching Far East.
I ran out of "impromptu" ideas while waiting.
So, Me and Rene gave up altogether and
just decided to head down to Wheelock and hunt them down.
(Wheelock was their initial destination; don't Wayne get sick of that place?)

Yada yada yada and more yada.
It was finally time for us to head to Ubi and enrol for our driving license.
Arrived there and took our 'numbers'.
All three of us, since our numbers are consecutive, we were briefed all at once.
Had the Eye-test and I must say, it was fun!
Haha!
The rest was much about briefing.
OH!
Me and Rene settled down to taking the Manual Course and
Wayne took the Auto Course (boo!!)
Hahaha! Just kidding!

Had to book for our Basic Theory Test (BTT) and the e-Trials.
Yada yada yada.
In total, it cost around S$170.
Got the booklet and all.

The booklet

Everything that was include in the booklet

So.....
My, or rather,
Our (the 3 of us) BTT is scheduled on the 27th of May @ 4:30pm.
I have noted it down in my organizer.
Given a month to prepare for it.

Now,
I see more reason to save up.
Well, because once I have passed my BTT (which I hope to get it done with just 1 try),
each practical lesson with the instructor will create a huge crater in my savings.
Each lesson would cost between S$60-S$70.
Oh boy!

I guess I will be spending my 2 Months holiday earning extra income.
My aim is to just get my Qualified Driving License (QDL) by the end of the year.

Anyway, a form of sponsorship from anyone would be a true bonus to me.
Just kindly send me an E-mail.
Haha!

Well, there's a reason why my parents are not supporting me with the costs.
Firstly, they have things to pay for; like utility bills, my mobile bills etc.
Secondly, I was told by Mom to be independent.

Anyway,
I just wanna do this alone.
I can feel the satisfaction earned at the of the day
when I will be receiving my QDL.

Well, all the best to me.
Hope to seek any sponsorship from anyone.
Someone related I hope.
(Hahaha! I'm just kidding!)

till then,

CHEERS!

I know Rene,
I said I was not going to tell anyone that I have enrolled myself in driving.
just cannot help it lah. haha!
