perhaps the best

The name is Khairul. Would do fine with Khai or Kerol [kay-roll] - with proper pronunciation that is.

May have caused a traumatic experience to the nurses who were there when I graced the world on the 14th of June, 21 years ago.

I reside at the great eastern side of Singapore. At an estate named after a water containment facility. Go figure!

A left-hander. However, I function more like a right. And sometimes left of course.

Owns a Class 3 driving licence.

Have been playing the saxophone for 8 years. Currently a Baritone Saxophonist in the Philharmonic Youth Winds.

Being and socialising with people occupy whatever free time I might have.

Boredom is sadly pathetic - would be just staring at my ceiling.

And recently, graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts where I pursued a diploma in Arts Management, majoring in Performing Arts.

WESTERN THEATRE FINAL PRESENTATION
1:16 PM

GREETINGS!

I was absent from the cyber world last night.
I was too fatigue that I went straight to bed after a damn good warm shower.
So, did not have the chance to blog this out.

Anyway,
as promised, an entry with regards to the presentation I had on Saturday.

The night before.
I kind of did not sleep.
Slept for only an hour.
Was busy studying for it.
Well, I have to admit.
Not all the time was concentrated on studying.
There were too many distractions around me.

Before heading to school for the presentation,
dropped by BN to check things out.
Left BN grounds at 1140.

Upon reaching school, directed myself to Lee Foundation Theatre.
That is where the presentation is held.
I was trying real hard not to panic.
By sitting down quietly on the comfortable chair HELPS!
Hahaha!

ROUND 1

(Btw, this presentation is in pairs; each round with only one member presenting and not any member is allowed to present more than 2 times)

As you would have read in the previous entry.
We were given a passage from the topic we are allocated to and have it memorized.
And then recite it on stage.

Well, that of course, is not me.
But I can swear to you the first time I walked on that stage and began reciting,
I was shaking.
Haha!
It was not scary to stand on the stage,
but it was, having to recite the passage from memory.

After all 14 groups were done with the recitation bit,
comes Round 2.

ROUND 2

Round 2 is another round (3 minutes)
whereby we get a picture relating to one of the topics,
and with that picture, we are to elaborate it with facts.

And I must say, my partner, Vanessa did real well.
She had panic-attack after receiving the topic/picture that she wasn't that prepared for.
But I am so proud of her.
REALLY!
Ok, I change my mind.
Not very well
BUT
She did very very VERY well.
:)

ROUND 3

Round 3 (3 minutes) is much similar to Round 2 just that,
instead of pictures, we were given a section of a topic and had elaborate on it.

I really thanked God for making the
muscles in my hands pick the topic that I am familiar with.
(We had to draw lots to determine who gets what, so the topic is pretty much random)
I was given only 10 minutes to prepare for the topic
(Thanks Vanessa for helping me out with it too)
and after that 10 minutes, we were asked to head up backstage to wait for our turn.
Being the 2nd one to go made me panicked.
Hahaha!
While waiting for my turn, I was like a monk chanting behind.
Not literally, but was repeating the facts over and over again,
and thinking how to make my "speech" a little better.

Went out after the 1st person was done and began to talk.
I must say, I felt way comfortable during the 2nd round.
Perhaps maybe, I was confident of the things that I wanna talk about.
Talked and talked and talked and then I heard the bell.
I said, "That was fast."
Meaning the 3 minute time limit is over.
AFTER I placed back the microphone onto the stand and began walking off stage,
I silently said to myself...

"OMG! EXAMS ARE OVER! YESSAH!!!!!!!!!"

Yep yep. I was extremely happy.
Finally the moment have arrived.
So, we kinda had to stay back to watch the other groups and ultimately find out
who won the Best Speaker Award and the Best Duo Award.

Congratulations to Mohan and Penny for winning the Best Duo Award.

And guess who won the Best Speaker Award???
.
.

.
.
ME!

I went... "WHAT?!"

Hahahaha!
Actually, had a tie for the Best Speaker.
It was between me and Mohan.
Since he won the Best Duo award with Penny,
the Best Speaker Award went to me.
I was seriously surprised.
DID NOT EXPECT IT AT ALL.
Ok, I better stop it.
Heh.

Received HMV Vouchers worth S$40!

Well, all over now.
All I have to do is to wait for the results transcript.
I have already predicted what grades I would be getting.
Just hope what I have predicted will turn into reality.

Thus,
that concluded my Year 1 in NAFA.
FAST AYE???
Haha!

Till the next entry,

CHEERS!
Peace out!
