The name is Khairul. Would do fine with Khai or Kerol [kay-roll] - with proper pronunciation that is.

May have caused a traumatic experience to the nurses who were there when I graced the world on the 14th of June, 21 years ago.

I reside at the great eastern side of Singapore. At an estate named after a water containment facility. Go figure!

A left-hander. However, I function more like a right. And sometimes left of course.

Owns a Class 3 driving licence.

Have been playing the saxophone for 8 years. Currently a Baritone Saxophonist in the Philharmonic Youth Winds.

Being and socialising with people occupy whatever free time I might have.

Boredom is sadly pathetic - would be just staring at my ceiling.

And recently, graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts where I pursued a diploma in Arts Management, majoring in Performing Arts.

DOUBLE MOVIE DAY
11:59 PM

-Date and time changed for archiving purposes-
[Actual date/time at the point of blogging: July 09, 3.50 am]

Greetings!

Today was like a normal day. Practically stayed at home the entire day. I must say, I am enjoying myself more when I am at home. That is only because I won't spend unnecessarily = SAVING UP! My savings are growing but I shall resist myself. Will ONLY spend it if there is an essential need to. It is all to pay for my driving practical lessons. Yup.

As I was saying, I stayed at home the whole entire day. Woke up knowing that half the day is gone. I am kinda use to that anyway. But that has to stop soon. 11 more days till Year 2 commences. Shall start giving myself restrictions. Switch off the computer before 1.30 AM and hit the sack before 2 AM! That is the latest that I should pamper myself with. Do not wanna be attending school with the zombie-face on. But of course, like any other habits, it will probably take more time than expected to kick it out. I just have to keep my fingers crossed. Heh.

So anyway, spent the rest of my afternoon and evening watching 2 movies. Watched 'Camp Rock' and 'Kung Fu Panda'. Watched it online of course. Duh!

Camp Rock, a music-filled Disney Channel Original Movie, features the Jonas Brothers as members of a leading musical group, Connect 3. When member Shane Gray (Joe Jonas) needs to counter his bad boy rocker image, he is sent by his fellow band members Nate (Nick Jonas) and Jason (Kevin Jonas) to the music camp as a guest instructor. There he meets camper Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato), a teen girl with an extraordinary voice and a driving ambition to be a pop singer but unfortunately she can only spend her summer at the expensive camp by helping her mom work in the mess hall between classes. When Shane overhears Mitchie singing from behind closed doors, he sets out to find the girl with the beautiful voice.

Some people may find Disney Channel Original Movies lame or cheesy, but in fact, it is not! I just love (though I am already 19) how movies for kids keeps on inspiring me. Not in a major way, but somehow. Hey! Even High School Musical taught me something! Haha! There were some phrases that were being said during the movie that got me inspired. As much as the following contradicts, I cannot seem to recall the quote. It was a pretty long one. Heh.
Overall, 3 out of 5 stars!

By the way, Camp Rock is due to appear on Disney Channel this coming September. And what month it is now? Call me an early bird! Haha!

Next, Kung Fu Panda! Alright now, I know this one came out ages ago. I actually wanted to head to the movies weeks back but it seems that the people I had in mind to watch this with, already watched it! So I just gave it a pass altogether, decided to find time and watch it at home instead. A very funny movie with morals embedded into it. Master Oogway (the tortoise) said something. It might be those typical quotes you might have read somewhere, but when it is placed into the context of the movie, it gave a whole different meaning to it. I find it interesting and yet again, inspiring!

"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present" - Master Oogway

I particularly love the fighting scenes. The intricate wonders of 3D-design! It was complex and intriguing. But the ending was a bit of a bummer because it ended quite abruptly I must say. But overall, good movie. I would give 3.5 stars out of 5!

By the way, you can visit this website to read the funny quotes each character made during the movie. Simply click on the character and then proceed on by clicking "quotes". To be reading it back, just reminds me of the humor during that particular scene.

That is all for today. I do not want to get into trouble by posting up the link because I watched it online! Haha! Whoops! I am sure you guys are web-savvy enough to know which website to head to.
Ciao for now!
