perhaps the best

The name is Khairul. Would do fine with Khai or Kerol [kay-roll] - with proper pronunciation that is.

May have caused a traumatic experience to the nurses who were there when I graced the world on the 14th of June, 21 years ago.

I reside at the great eastern side of Singapore. At an estate named after a water containment facility. Go figure!

A left-hander. However, I function more like a right. And sometimes left of course.

Owns a Class 3 driving licence.

Have been playing the saxophone for 8 years. Currently a Baritone Saxophonist in the Philharmonic Youth Winds.

Being and socialising with people occupy whatever free time I might have.

Boredom is sadly pathetic - would be just staring at my ceiling.

And recently, graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts where I pursued a diploma in Arts Management, majoring in Performing Arts.

NAFA ORIENTATION LEADERS CAMP 2008
12:59 AM

[Double Update Part 1]

Last Thursday was the 1st day of the NAFA Orientation Leaders Camp I was telling you guys about. I must say, it was kinda fun. Reported in the seminar room at 10 am-ish and waited for the rest to come. As I type down the events, it MAY sound fast but actually it is not. The wait was long. Anyway played some ice-breaking games which was sort of fun in a way but it gets boring the more we play it. Then we got allocated to our groups. The group name makes us sound damn gay. I got grouped into 'Tulip'. (?!) Haha! Had little chats here and there. Made new friends of course! Let me recall their names. Jasmine, Alex, Lava, Emily, Federer. Plus myself and Rene whom I already know.

So anyway, started with our very first group game. We were required to use anything that is on us to make the longest line. They do not care what we use, but so long it is connected and forms a line. Be it EZ-Link cards, tissue paper, belts, shirts, shoes, accessories, anything that was on us! Somehow bonded with my group mates because we were rushing for time and gave each other instructions on what to use.
And at the end of it, my group won! We had the longest line!

Next was some boring talk by JK (Which I must say, this guy is hilariously funny!). Boring because of the content but fun because of his nonsensical nonsense. We were told on what our duties are on that day. I am partnering with Gynette for the tour for the newly recruited Year 1s. And a chance to mingle with my juniors. Wooo! Alright now Khai, control yourself.

Then it was lunch. Buffet style. The food was good and so were the peach pudding from Marigold. After lunch played a different version of Whacko. And at the end of the game, I realised I splitted my pants right at my crotch. HAHA! Thank god it was a not big hole. A size of 2 one dollar coins. And I thank myself for wearing boxers inside. Heh. Then it was the major game.

The Amazing Race.

My group was in so much enthusiasm that we practically ran out of the room the moment we got our first clue (which then cost me a very painful muscle pull). Call it Kiasu-ism! Haha! But it was great! Basically the station were located in different parts of Bugis, Bencoolen (NAFA Campus area) and Dhoby Ghaut. But the thing is that we are not allowed to take any mode of transport except for to use our own two legs.

If memory serves me right, stations were located at the statue beside Singapore Management University (SMU), YMCA building, Singapore Arts Museum (SAM), Parview Square (That damn grand building in Bugis), National Library, Rochor Beancurd Stall, IOI Mall, DHL Balloon, Waterloo Centre and NAFA Campus itself. We were running practically from station to station. We had to walk at some point because my group mates couldn't catch up. Call it one for all, all for one. But bloody hell, the stations were not located near to each other. They were located so far apart that all I can remember doing is to run from Bencoolen, Bugis and Dhoby back and forth.

At the end of the game, was hoping that we got first place as I heard that our group was the fastest. But unfortunately we got second. But hey, I told my group not to be disappointed. At least we know we already did our best and work as a team. The game lasted for like 3 hours? 4? I can't recall.

Had some photoshoot for some magazine after camp debrief and I was made to do poses. Haha! A model to be? Nah! For all I care, I just wanna see the pictures that were taken. Mo! Tell me once you have received it. After that much photoshoot with the fun-fun people, I could already feel the pain in my legs. Walked to Orchard to meet up with Wayne because he wants to hang out. Went to Cineleisure to catch a movie. We were deciding between '21' or 'Its a Boy Girl Thing' and finally, due to the very front seats (Yes, the ones that you have lift your head up high) left for '21', we decided to settle on the other one.

Ignore the 'IN CINEMAS DECEMBER 26' bit. Yeah. It is a movie that came out in 2006 if I am not wrong and it made to the screens here only recently. And what a bummer to hear from Nad that that movie is being shown on Star Movies! I was not that bumped because Dad did not subscribe to that channel, so it was not that bad.

It is a NC16 movie with nudity and coarse language here and there :P
But that is not the point. The movie is nice but it is not one of those that would create an impact on me for a long time. Click HERE to read more about the movie. The lead actor is good looking and the lead actress is oh-so hot. What a compatible couple!

After movie was Starbucks @ Orchard. Settled on the largest cup of White Chocolate Hot Latte because I was experiencing severe headache. Yong Lin came and sat there for quite some time. By then, I surrendered. My legs were in so much pain. Reached home at around 11.40 pm.
That was it! I couldn't walk with much control and to make things worst, I slipped and fell in the toilet. As what you guys have read in my previous entry. Boohoo!

I did not attend Day 2 of the camp because I could not even get up from my bed. Well, yes I did actually, but the pain was so intense. So I texted Rene saying I won't be there for Day 2. Spent the whole day resting at home. And yes, I gave tutoring @ Chong Boon a pass.

But something fun happened that night. Will probably write about it in the next entry because this entry is getting longer every minute. Oh well. I shall end it here. And write what happened that night in a separate entry (Double update for the night I suppose).

Ciao!
