No, I did not make my way to the floating platform at Marina. Neither did I cramp my way through on Nicoll Highway or the Merlion Park. Instead, headed over to Heng Shoon's (HS) place to catch the parade on TV. Yeah, with the comfort of the sofa!
But before heading there, met the guys (Kesian Boyz) at Tampines Mall (TM). After buying the guitar strings from Yamaha, took 67 down to Siglap district. HS' place was deep inside, so the walk in was fun but tiring in a way. None of us had any idea where to turn or how far we were before reaching his place. So, we randomly turn here and there and the next thing we knew, we are right in front of HS' place! Aren't we good? Haha!
Went into his 'palace', greeted his Dad and headed up to the second floor. Nad was already there, together with Hazizi and Yong Lin. It could have been full strength (K-boyz) if Ogy was there. He had to stay at home to study; well according to him.
Had a little chat here and there and got bored all of a sudden. Went up to the third floor and that is when the noise came in. There's a jamming studio up there. So they got their guitars plugged in, sticks ready, fingers on the keyboard, microphone on for the vocalist, and there you go, noise that was kind of unpleasant to the ears. Nyeahaha! But as time flies, it got better and I can finally hear a song being sung decently. Well, at least it was not that bad.
5.40 pm: Switched on the telly and switched on to Channel 5 to... What else?! Catch the live telecast of the National Day Parade 2008! They were still knocking onto the drums and strumming the guitar, so got them to stop playing and watch the parade. My little vision came true. You see, before heading over to HS' place, I had this vision of us, the guys and a few others sitting in front of the telly and singing to the songs. And so, it did came true!
Watched the first half of the parade and by the time the contingents marched pass the honorary panel consisting of the President, Prime Ministers etc, the guys were already asleep. Hahaha! The second half was super boring. Except for the part that there was a clear view of the....
I do not know whether you are able to see the jet planes or the stream of smoke that followed behind them. My phone is not capable of capturing it in great detail. It was to my right and from where I was standing, I could see it soaring in the sky with great speed. And another thing, I saw the sun set. Haha! It was a view that I have never seen before.

Some of the pictures I took.

Sadly, I did not manage to capture the one that looks like a heart shape because I was busy enjoying the view. Check this out. When I turn my head up to my left, I saw this.....
A rainbow!
Usually if I were to see one, it is not the full arch.
But this time round, I could see the full arch.
Magnificent!

Finally the night came. At approximately 8 pm, fireworks started to fill up the sky. All of us ran to the balcony and watched the dark sky being filled up with flashes and bright colours. It got bigger as minutes passed, and the final blow got everyone cheering for Singapore.
After parade ended, the jamming continued till 9.30pm. I shall update on the events that happened after the parade by tomorrow because now, I am seriously not feeling well. Stupid flu bug! My nose is like a tap.
Anyway...
