perhaps the best

The name is Khairul. Would do fine with Khai or Kerol [kay-roll] - with proper pronunciation that is.

May have caused a traumatic experience to the nurses who were there when I graced the world on the 14th of June, 21 years ago.

I reside at the great eastern side of Singapore. At an estate named after a water containment facility. Go figure!

A left-hander. However, I function more like a right. And sometimes left of course.

Owns a Class 3 driving licence.

Have been playing the saxophone for 8 years. Currently a Baritone Saxophonist in the Philharmonic Youth Winds.

Being and socialising with people occupy whatever free time I might have.

Boredom is sadly pathetic - would be just staring at my ceiling.

And recently, graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts where I pursued a diploma in Arts Management, majoring in Performing Arts.

AWESOME
11:59 PM

Date and Time changed for archiving purposes

So the first day of Hari Raya was great! Do not expect tonnes of pictures because I did not take much of them.

We got ready by 1230 pm and as like every other year, Mom and Dad would sit down at the sofa and we would seek for forgiveness. So, I was the fourth to ask for forgiveness. We did it from the eldest down to the youngest. After 3 of my elder brothers had their turn, it was mine. Knelt in front of Mom first. As usual, I tried to be the clown, like every other year. Haha! But the asking for forgiveness is there. Gave Mom a kiss on both of her cheeks and proceed to ask forgiveness from Dad. Dad gave a little something. Haha! You know.......

Like every other year, $50 from Dad (and Mom) could not get any better. The money's not important, so long we have rejoiced this day by forgiving each other sincerely.

Headed out and over to my maternal grandparents place at Hougang. When we arrived, Busu (uncle) and Busu Hanim (aunt) was already there. It was fun being there and Alhamdullilah (Praises to God) that both of them have been granted good health every single day.

Nenek (grandma) prepared food for us. It was what Mom cooked, except that Nenek has got Serunding! Haha! It was just the thing to complete the whole feast. Ate and began talking with Atok (grandpa), Nenek, Busu and Busu Hanim. Then took a couple of group photos (which is currently with Busu Hanim).

Some of the pictures taken using my trusty mobile phone
which I think has got a not-bad quality of pictures.

While taking pictures, Atok took out his new digital camera Busu bought for him not too long ago. He couldn't familiarise with the look-at-screen shots. So he tried practising taking shots. And I was trying to take a picture of Atok when he turned to me and captured a picture of me squatting.

No, I don't have the picture of my squatting (phew!)
but here is a picture of Atok with Busu.

After the photo-taking session, sat and started talking. Atok then went into his room and started bringing out old albums. A lot of them! Plenty pictures of me when I was a toddler, and small kid and all the way up till I was around sec 1. The pictures were embarrassing. Some, I could not remember looking that way even!

Had a great laugh looking at the pictures. Then Atok took out this really vintage picture frame with a picture of Nenek's children and her brother's children. Atok looked like some Bollywood actor when he was young! Handsome man.

And guess which one's my mom.

Mom's the shortest one (Haha!).
Busu was not born yet during that time.

Mom did not have a lot of cousins because Nenek had only a brother.
Which I will get to it later on in the entry.

Spent a lot of time there looking at pictures and then it was time to go. 'Salam-ed' Busu and Busu Hanim. Then I kneeled down in front of Nenek to ask for forgiveness. 'Salam-ed', got green packets (Yay!) and gave a kiss on both of her cheeks. Then 'salam-ed' Atok.

Remember the entry I wrote about my grandparents on how they make me feel good with their unconditional love? I felt it, only greater that day.

Left at around 3 pm and back to Bedok Reservoir to visit my Dad's Mom, Nenek. Before heading there, we headed home for a while to take some stuff and as for me, I took my helmet.

3rd Bro left his working gear (he had to work night shift) at home so it took him quite some time to gather his stuff. While waiting, I decided to (coughs) warm my bike up as the car had no space to accomodate all of us.

Shot taken by Sis.

And told her to take more.

"Vroom! Vroooom!"

Soon after, headed to Nenek's place and when we arrived, a few of Dad's siblings were already leaving. Saw lots of little cousins (cute ones) but how sad that I did not get to interact with them. Drinks were served and then it was the food! Lontong, Rendang, Ayam Masak Merah, Serunding, Sayur Lodeh... all there!

Did not interact as much with Nenek because honestly, I am not close with Dad's side. But Alhamdullilah, there were more interaction as compared to last year's. So anyway, had to leave early because we're heading Choa Chu Kang (CCK) next to visit Nek Long and Tok Long (Mom's aunt and uncle).

Haha! Alright... That isn't my bike. It belongs to my eldest brother. ANYWAY, took the bike as I wanted to feel how it is like to be on a superbike. It was fun and I didn't know that being a superbike passenger can get pretty tiring. I was on the bike from Bedok Reservoir Road, all the way to CCK Central .

Bloody hell... I was holding on to my brother for dear life. The highest he speeded up was 104 km/h. It would be nothing if you were in car. But when you are on a two-wheeled fast moving vehicle, you wished you had called the insurance company earlier! Haha! Anyway, it was an experience but like I have said, pretty tiring; especially my arms.

While I was at Nek Long's house, some long distant cousin of mine was there also. And he looked exactly like _________ (Don't bother counting. Haha!). Only one person knows who I am talking about.

So anyway, salam-ed Nek Long. Went into Tok Long's room to salam as he is bed-ridden. Soon to learn that he is suffering from weak bones. Heard from Mom that he likes to drink cold drinks when he was younger. That caused his weak bones and then on, I would think twice before having a cold drink even on a sunny day. He is also suffering from slight amnesia. There are certain people he could not recognise well (especially my siblings). But we understood why. Despite that, we still gave him the attention he needs.

Went out to help Nek Long with the food and drinks while Dad stayed in the room to keep Tok Long company. Ate the same kind of food. Ketupat, Rendang and you know, the usuals and soon after, Pak Ngah arrived (Mom's elder brother) with the cousins.

Nek Long was praying, so I went to the kitchen to look for glasses and served them drinks. Spent the rest of the time watching the telly (Sinar Lebaran 2nd telecast) and we left at around 6.40 pm. Fetched Bro to work as he had to check in before 7.30 pm.

Took a couple of bike shots before leaving.

Fell asleep in the car because I was pretty exhausted. Mom wanted to go to Mustafa Centre. So we went home first to get changed and went back out. Supper at Sakunthala's Restaurant was next. Yes, the best naan bread I have tried. Home sweet home after which.

Shall abruptly end this here because I need some sleep!
Ciao!
