perhaps the best

The name is Khairul. Would do fine with Khai or Kerol [kay-roll] - with proper pronunciation that is.

May have caused a traumatic experience to the nurses who were there when I graced the world on the 14th of June, 21 years ago.

I reside at the great eastern side of Singapore. At an estate named after a water containment facility. Go figure!

A left-hander. However, I function more like a right. And sometimes left of course.

Owns a Class 3 driving licence.

Have been playing the saxophone for 8 years. Currently a Baritone Saxophonist in the Philharmonic Youth Winds.

Being and socialising with people occupy whatever free time I might have.

Boredom is sadly pathetic - would be just staring at my ceiling.

And recently, graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts where I pursued a diploma in Arts Management, majoring in Performing Arts.

I embed a lot of things from the net. But most of the time, I use my own pictures. Just in case I forget to do my acknowledgments, at least I have given my thanks to the following:

ELDEST BROTHER'S ENGAGEMENT
8:04 PM

Event happened on 3rd of January (Saturday)

I am keeping words to its minimum for this entry. As promised, pictures galore! To be honest, it took me two days to choose and edit the pictures. I had more than 100 pictures and that would probably take way too long to upload it, especially when blogger can only upload 5 pictures at one go.

Haha! Look at me! So much for keeping words to its minimum.
(Click on the pictures to have a bigger view of it)

We were preparing one of the more traditional 'hantaran' (gifts)
called 'Sireh Dara'. (as corrected by one of my aunt)
Obviously, we were fooling around. Just imagine my brother singing the 'Survivor' theme song.
Oh, that's Dzaki, my eldest brother. The one getting engaged.

The layout of the buffet table. Labeling each tray with post-its.

We had to put the cats into this large cage Mom bought recently.

We had to run errands early in the morning.
It was with one of my brothers (who is driving) and my sister.

Aunts and uncles, relatives, grandmother and grandfather
reached and they too helped out with the food.

Around early afternoon, proceeded with the 'doa selamat' (prayers).

Everybody, one by one starts to dig in.

Above are the 'hantaran' (gifts) to be given to the bride's side.
What you see is made by Mom herself. Except for the large cake.
Items ranging from prayer mats to beauty products to chocolates.
Click on the picture to take a look at it a little closer.

A view of it as a whole.
Remember those frequent journey to Malaysia just to get those decorations?
All of it is in it. Haha!

And of course, not forgetting the engagement ring.
Oh, that's Dane, my 2nd eldest brother; who was our official photographer.

Friends who came. Idham and Fairuz.

Brother's friends.

Random shots my younger sister took.
That's Izzul, my 3rd eldest brother.

More guests starts pouring in.

Those two in red are my distant cousins.
(My aunt's sister's children. Haha!)
They're twins! Syukor and Syukri.
I kinda forgotten who is who. Hahaha!

And I present you my first ever niece.
With that, I am officially an uncle. Hah!
She's freaking cute.

As for this one, she's my other cousin (Mom's side).
Obviously, you can tell, she loves the camera. An NYP-ian.
She kept pestering me to take pictures of her, and so I did. Haha!

Some of my aunts from my Dad's side, with the adorable little ones.
It was kinda hard especially when the younger ones
keep coming to you and all they want is attention.
I felt like a father that day!

Some random shots I took.

After Isyak (the last prayer call for the day), went over to the bride's side to hand over the gifts as well as the ring. Don't ask me why it was after Isyak.

Everyone waiting for the lift.

In the house.
One of my uncle doing the talking. Some sort of "negotiation".
It was so noisy outside that I could not hear what they were saying.

My sister-in-law-to-be, Kak Yati.

The 'sarong cincin' (put on the ring) ceremony.

Took a couple of pictures.

Some of the gifts from the bride's side to my brother.

Then it was the reception. Had some food and I then went around taking pictures.

(When we were back at home)
I liked the Fossil watch. But too bad it is for bro. Haha!

Meet one of my cousin, Johan Johari.
He is very naughty but can be obedient at times.

This is my aunt, who managed to get my blog link from my younger sister.
Hahaha! She's one cool aunt I tell you.

It was very tiring. Especially when I woke up at 6.30 am to help Mom and slept at around 3 in the morning. (21 hours non-stop "action"!) Nevertheless, I enjoyed myself.

This is only the engagement, not yet the wedding itself. Hahaha!

Alright.
I am getting pretty tired already. Gonna end this entry abruptly I suppose.
Take care all!

Cheers!
