So, it is official. We have all ushered in the new year. It is also the time of the year where many would draw up a list of new year resolutions to accomplish throughout the new year. I am keeping this year's resolution as little as possible. Certain achievements may be uncalled for. But if you set it from the start and achieve it during the year, the sense of satisfaction is just great.
As I grow older, I soon to learn that resolutions are not only about the things we want to achieve, but the need to achieve it. So lets get starting shall we?
1. To ensure that Dad stops smoking soon
Dad got violently addicted to cigarettes especially this year. It worries so much as he is getting older. He ain't that old but stopping have to start somewhere, and it better be soon. Earlier this year, Dad managed to stop smoking for around 5 months. During that 5 months, he lead a rather healthy lifestyle. He would drag Mom down to Bedok Reservoir Park and go for a run. But not anymore now. It is quite sad when your close ones are slowly shortening their life span. I am determined and will do whatever it takes to make sure he will stop smoking for good.
Of course there are a number of people that I do know of who unfortunately picked up this habit. I will try my best but I need to get my Dad to stop smoking first. Because he is my top priority in the "List of people I wish to get them to stop smoking".
2. To lead a healthier lifestyle
And that includes sleeping early. I know, the first day into the new year and I already unfulfilled it. Hah! But this one will take some time. Apart from sleeping early, I wish to exercise more regularly, not when I am down, but doing it like a routine. Eating right too of course!
As far as now is concern, these are my personal goals. I do have other resolutions for 2009, but it is of no use to type it all out and have everyone reading it, when at the end of the day, it is I who have to achieve them. I have a separate list for that, and I will reconsider about sharing it with you. Muahahaha!
More later on during the day.
Cheers!
