I was having my lunch in the kitchen when Mom stepped in and started making something. Observing what she was doing, I asked. Apparently, she was making her daily wholesome filled with goodness drink. She tore few pieces of dates into a cup filled with oatmeal and hot water - pretty interesting. It sets me thinking after that. She claimed she will not go hungry fast plus the oatmeal will absorb and lower the cholesterol level.
I am no genius when it comes to healthy living. But somehow, watching the telly everyday, I am greeted with talk shows emphasizing on healthy living. It is a sign! Haha! I am making my stand from this day onwards. Feeling a little inspired after seeing my Mom make her wholesome drink, I will make it a point to have a self-made smoothie each day (or at least till I made the necessary purchases aka ingredients).

From top left hand corner (clockwise): Cornflakes, flax seeds, cocoa powder, honey, dates, oatmeal, banana, mixed berries.
Throw in a handful of ice cubes, the ingredients that complement each other and blend - delicious! The next time Mom heads down to Giant or Mustafa Centre, I am going to ensure that I have the above ingredients to be stored in my fridge or pantry. For now, I will make use of whatever ingredients I have.
Anyway, I figured this would be a great start. Especially when I rarely take my breakfast. Haha! After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Will save up (or get sponsorship from Mom or Dad) to get a flask before school reopens so that if the drink is cold, it will last longer. Apart from healthy living, this will probably help me with saving up.
Saying is one thing. Implementing it is another.
I'll try my best though!
Cheers!
