perhaps the best

The name is Khairul. Would do fine with Khai or Kerol [kay-roll] - with proper pronunciation that is.

May have caused a traumatic experience to the nurses who were there when I graced the world on the 14th of June, 21 years ago.

I reside at the great eastern side of Singapore. At an estate named after a water containment facility. Go figure!

A left-hander. However, I function more like a right. And sometimes left of course.

Owns a Class 3 driving licence.

Have been playing the saxophone for 8 years. Currently a Baritone Saxophonist in the Philharmonic Youth Winds.

Being and socialising with people occupy whatever free time I might have.

Boredom is sadly pathetic - would be just staring at my ceiling.

And recently, graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts where I pursued a diploma in Arts Management, majoring in Performing Arts.

BEST YONG TAU FU
4:52 PM

Two days ago, Mom and Dad brought me to this Yong Tau Fu stall near Changi Road after I knocked off from a 10-hour shift. Mom claimed it is really darn good, so I was really looking forward to it. I went there all tired and left the place feeling happy and rejuvenated. Well, you might have guessed what my verdict is on the food. I tell you, it was really 'bagus' (Malay word for 'good')! Just like the name of the stall! Haha!

You'll be spoiled for choices. There are so many variations of Yong Tau Fu to choose from. You can actually choose for it to be served with La Mian (which my guess would be thinly sliced hand-made noodles). So, what did I pick?

This! It's Ampang style (with no La Mian served). The picture above is drool-worthy isn't it? And so was the real thing as I took the first spoonful of the heavenly creamy and spicy sauce. It was served with the usual sauces (black and chilli) and a bowl of really clean and refreshing spring onion soup. I can taste it in my mouth as I'm typing this! What I like the most is the sauce that showered every bit of the food items. It has this chilli crab feeling yet it's not. Really indescribable! It is really authentic because they re-fry the fried items to crispiness, and blanched the vegetables to perfection. The contrast of texture is really out of this world. Unlike some places, where they would just blanch it in hot water and "soggy-fy" the fried items.

The price is really affordable. With a cup of drink, $6 would be just nice. In the mood to have extra? They do have side-dishes. We tried the beancurd skin-wrapped chicken pieces, served with mayonnaise and chilli sauce. One word, yummy! I am certain that every side dish that's available is worth the money.

And in case you're wondering where the shop is located, it is along Changi road diagonally to Darul Aman Mosque. And in case you're wondering, it is marked with a circle that has an 'X' in it (referring to the picture above). It's opposite the old famous Restu restaurant. Die die must try. Me, being a Yong Tau Fu lover, that experience was truly uplifting! Bring your friends and family, and some cash of course, to give it a try. No regrets, I am very sure.

Out of 5 stars, how many would I give? 4.5!
Now, that's a review!

The shop owner better give me incentives for promoting. You know, when there's a sudden increase of customers patronising the shop *raises both eyebrows up and down*. Haha!
