The name is Khairul. Would do fine with Khai or Kerol [kay-roll] - with proper pronunciation that is.

May have caused a traumatic experience to the nurses who were there when I graced the world on the 14th of June, 21 years ago.

I reside at the great eastern side of Singapore. At an estate named after a water containment facility. Go figure!

A left-hander. However, I function more like a right. And sometimes left of course.

Owns a Class 3 driving licence.

Have been playing the saxophone for 8 years. Currently a Baritone Saxophonist in the Philharmonic Youth Winds.

Being and socialising with people occupy whatever free time I might have.

Boredom is sadly pathetic - would be just staring at my ceiling.

And recently, graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts where I pursued a diploma in Arts Management, majoring in Performing Arts.

CHEESY
2:25 AM

"Lets flip a coin. Heads, you're mine. Tail, I'm yours."

Cheesy right? I know *sticks out tongue*. Heh. Saw this quote somewhere on the net. It striked me when Nareeni showed me her collection of coins from all over the world that she keeps in her wallet. And also when the guys couldn't decide where to have dinner. Haha!

VALENTINE - KINA GRANNIS
2:58 AM

I kinda like this song in a way. Too good not to share it.
Thank you Nareeni ;)

Oh! Another story that got my colleague laughing hysterically. At work today, a customer bought the medium popcorn combo. I replied, "For the coke, sweet or salted?" -____-" I wanted to ask "Regular or large for the drink?". This is what will happen when I am mentally exhausted at work. My words will stumble, item-matching goes hay-wire and I'll be less cheerful. For the record, that's not the only funny thing I have said to my customers. There are plenty! Haha! At times, I just find myself weird at work. And somehow, it brings joy to my colleagues (and sometimes customers too) but that's alright. I get to make their day :D

Cheers!

HMMMM....
11:43 PM

Randomness alert!

Been working quite often lately. Figured rather than staying at home doing nothing, work could keep me occupied. Little did I know it can be energy-draining too. Maybe cos I have not been working for two months and making a comeback is like a sudden change to my body needs which need adjustments. Despite that, it's good to be back with the team I somehow find joy joking around and talking with. I'll be fine if that is what you want to know. Heh.

I'm mentally exhausted compared to physically. I am a weirdo, I know. Been dozing off at weird places around the house (the floor, the sofa, my sister's room) also. And what a bummer to know that I can't consume anything cold. The gums that is covering part of my bottom-right wisdom tooth is currently swollen and it freaking hurts badly. I naturally, through habit, chew on my right side. Now that it is swollen, chewing on my left feels weird. Hence, I would go for soft food, which sucks. For the record, I can't shut my mouth fully. Darn! I should have avoided constantly drinking cold drinks at work. Highly suspect that was the cause, cos it happened before. Oh boy!

On a lighter and happier-less-melancholic note, June 14th is coming! I have no idea why I am all excited really. Turning 21 would just be another phase of life. Anyway, the idea months back to throw my 21st birthday party got abolished. I just hate planning and I wouldn't really want to waste money. Small gatherings are just fine with me.

People say that turning 21 is like the great leap towards adulthood. Truth is, I am just not ready for reality. I just want to be that naive boy who lives in a carefree world. I'm gonna turn 21 and I'm still single. HAH! What a way to put it Khai. Who wants an old boy anyway? Hmmm :)

Moving forward each day would mean that I am one day less surrendering my freedom to the government. National Service (NS) is gonna be this year! Time sure fly. I was just giving it a thought last year when some of my close buddies got enlisted. And soon, it is going to be my turn! I just want to get it over and done with and have my future career settled. For that, I am really really really really really hoping that I will get to where I want - Army. And hope that it will turn into reality just like how I pictured it.

Woh! So much for being mentally exhausted. I've just vomited like a whole chunk of rubbish! Heh. I'm gonna figure what to do next after I am done blogging. Oh boy! My life is so hard. HAHAHA!

Cheers!

JUNE'S HERE
4:17 AM

Credits: Photobucket

Yes, we have officially entered the month of June. And that would mean Mika's concert on June 14th is coming too! I am not too sure why I'm all hyped up even though I am not going. However, that being said, whoever would like to... you know.... surprise me on my birthday, you can get me tickets to Mika's concert. I won't ask much though. Kidding! Haha!

I like Mika's music very much. He dares to be different. By the way, I can be a hard-pleaser when it comes to music. But Mika spoke right through my soul.

Do you have a favourite Mika song? I do.
It's playing right now.

Cheers!

QUICKIE
3:10 AM

Credits: Photobucket

Just a quick one before I dive into bed. I think I would like to officially declare that I've zoned out and boredom is apparently my best buddy. Not really how I pictured it but to a tiny minute extent, I think I like it this way. The irony! Haha!

And so, I've been asked by many to set up a Tumblr account. I like the idea of how Tumblr is, really, with the capability to do almost anything (except feeding, providing me with an income and well, a whole bunch of other things), but I'm not sure. I love my blog the way it is. Sure thing that Tumblr will allow me to randomly update about anything, but Blogger can too! Haha! I have tried using other platforms of blogging and trust me, maintaining another blog space is not what I'm good at. It will end up being abandoned.

So what exactly is my conclusion? Go figure! (I might reconsider though if you can convince me further)

Oh! A shout-out to my 2nd eldest brother, Dane, HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY!

I'm off for now.
Cheers!

GUESS WHO'S BACK?
3:07 AM

[Photo credits to the original artist. Taken from Givoogle.com]

Before I proceed on with a decent entry, just to provide a disclaimer that what I am about to type is exactly what's on my mind. Not ALL of it, but whatever that appears first. It might will be a messy entry.

So finally, I managed to have a breather. But rest assured it won't be long before I get back on my feet and tire myself out all over again. The semester break sinked in approximately two weeks ago, and since then, I've never had proper rest. Not that I have holiday assignments to finish up, or complex projects that are brought forward from the previous semester, but if you're me, holidays simply means the opposite. Many would probably be nodding their head, agreeing to that statement.

What is exactly in store for me this holidays?

I have three performances coming up and prior to any performance, there are of course rehearsals. My weekends alone are jam-packed with rehearsals. And most of the time, I have two rehearsals over a span of 8 hours in one day alone! Hardcore eh? Haha! Nah, don't worry. I'll publicise the concerts in my blog when it is nearing. In fact, I'm gonna "advertise" one of it after I am done with this entry. So stay tuned cos I will be updating my dear blog often from now on (I mean it this time round). Haha!

December is probably one of the hottest months for any performance. Following which, the month of June. So it kinda came to me as no surprise that I will be involved in some of them. My school holidays are usually dedicated to music-making. NOT that I am complaining, but it is the best time for me to be a performer and make music for others.

Moving on....

I am also caught up with designing publicity materials and the concert booklet for one of the performances I will be performing in [Philharmonic Youth Wind's Classiques (EXTREME)]. With exhaustion and fatigue, my creative juices ain't flowing at all. But looking on the bright side, I already have the layout and design in mind. Just need to work it and do my "magic". Haha! Hoping that I could clear at least the posters etc by the end of the week. Gonna start doing wonders all over again - sitting long hours in front of the desktop (including the inevitable distractions that are widely available on the net) and going to sleep when the sun is rising.

Work has also been occupying whatever free time I am left with. And holidays are the best time for me to earn extra. Earning extra mean long hours of work. Since the start of my holidays, the longest I have worked in one day was 13 hours. And surprisingly, I survived. But trust me, the fatigue after punching out from work is overwhelming, and being able to sit down on a chair was incredible rewarding. I have been given specific responsibilities at work and I am thankful to my managers for believing in me. THAT, I'll leave it for another entry.

Therefore, my holidays gonna revolve around music-making, attending rehearsals, designing, teaching, providing excellent service at work, driving lessons and catching up with buddies. Which I am all looking forward to. It sure sounds like I am complaining, but honestly I am not. I don't complain a lot to be honest. Well, looking forward to all the activities lined up for me. And not forgetting, one of it is to update my blog often. *grins*

Ciao!

RANDOM QUICKIE
11:59 PM

Alright, I think it is best if I be polite and update a little. I should really get out of the habit of updating once each week. It is unhealthy isn't it? Oh boy, what have I got myself into. There are just too many things to update. Ok lah, I should pick the one that is more prominent in my brain cells - Hari Raya.

Hmmmm, I must say that during the fasting month (which I must add went passed in a blink of an eye), the anticipation was pretty much at zero level. But as Hari Raya neared, with all those good work-outs (painting the house) and making our place look nice, the mood began sinking in. And I must highlight that it felt good. The mood is still there. Can you imagine if one day Hari Raya feels like just an ordinary day?

Part of me was thankful. Parents decided not to visit our house at Malacca. With all those dishes Mom cooked for our last Iftar - it was awesome! I seriously can't imagine waking up in the morning of Hari Raya to see Maggie Mee on the table.

Anyway, the 'malam raya' (the night before Hari Raya), headed to Thomson because Mom wanted to get fresh flowers. I helped Mom picked and she allowed me to arrange the flowers in one of the vases. Haha! I know it sounds a little sissy but I enjoyed doing it. I show you? Heh....

It it currently placed on the coffee table in our living room.
How? Got potential or not?

Then headed to Geylang - Mom wanted to get curtains for our living room. By then, I felt so sick; as in unwell. With all the people flocking down to do their last minute shopping, bloody hell. I wonder how can they survive the pushing. I hate it especially when there are ignorant smokers who would smoke in such a crowded place. I was literally holding my breath just so I won't be a prime victim of being a passive smoker.

Got home close to 1AM and stayed up till like 4AM to finish up clearing the stuffs, and make last minute decor improvements. I will stop here for now and continue on with Hari Raya itself in another entry. Don't wanna get carried away and turn this entry into a bore. Heh.

Ciao!

CUTEST THING EVER!
6:13 AM

When life starts to go against you,
feeling like there is no way that you could live another day,
please save the following video -
to constantly remind ourselves how cute life can be sometimes.
And that all we need is someone to cheer you up.

Disclaimer: Semi-nudity :P

Credits to my elder brother, Dane for sharing this at 5:45AM.
I laughed so loud that I feel so wide awake right now.

Well anyway, gonna "roll" and hope the cold floor would lure me to Lala-land. Haha!
Food for thought: Why is it called Lala-land anyway?

Ciao!

THANK HEAVENS IT WAS FRIDAY
12:52 AM

Before I start to lose my muse to blog, I better get this blog updated.

Headed down to many places on Friday with Fauzi and Izzat - specifically the entire stretch of Orchard. Explored the two newly opened malls. Namely, Orchard Central Mall and ION Orchard. Took 'Wendy' out and started snapping pictures. I am no professional photographer alright. Hah!

Explored Orchard Central Mall first. Seriously, there is nothing much around there. It is like all the shops that people would least likely to visit all in one mall (with an exception of one or two of course). Apart from the public lounge area and the interesting express escalators, which jump up from the 3rd floor to the 7th, the view from the top was awesome. Never have I seen the entire stretch of Orchard Road from that height. Breath-taking? Yup! They had another express escalator from the 7th floor to the 11th, but it was closed.

Orchard Central Mall also houses the tallest indoor Via Ferrata in the world! Sadly, I was too awed by it that I did not managed to take a picture of it. Haha!

One more thing. I kinda liked the concept of the public toilets. It felt like we were in a hotel room. The inside? Just like a hotel room with dark wood all over! With no beds of course! Haha! Pretty neat place. Was too embarrassed to take 'Wendy' out to take pictures; especially with strangers doing their small little business at the urinals. Hahaha!

Got rather bored there, so finally we made our way to ION Orchard. By then, I was rather beat that I abandoned 'Wendy' for a while = no pictures of ION.

Have anyone of you went in there? I felt insulted in a good way. Haha! Segmentation was hugely present! The mall comprises of 8 shopping levels. 4 of which are basements. And the remaining, floors 1 to 4. From 1 to 4 is where all the high-end brands are - Giorgio Armani, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana etc. Whereas the levels "below the ground" were where the affordable brands are located. Seclusion from the rich and famous! Hahaha! Well, it is just my opinion. Maybe they set out to satisfy both the rich and the not so rich. Needless to say about its architecture because it was magnificent!

I will not go all out to do a promo for that mall. If you wanna know more about it just click here.

Headed to Topman to get my tops and I must say the decision-making was a difficult one. For those who have gone shopping with me, you will know what I mean. I am quite fussy or rather fickle-minded when it comes to shopping. Hahaha!

Took the express lane up to the MRT station (which was situated below ION Orchard itself), met Fidah and Nina and trained down to Eunos. Fairuz fetched us up and had supper somewhere near Bedok Police Headquarters.

Had a great catch-up session with them nonetheless though I was beat. Many things gonna happen this week and next. So, gonna gear up and be ready for what may come charging towards me.

Ciao!

P/S: I wanna change my blog's skin, but can't seem to find the time to do it. Sigh! Never thought I would be this busy.

QUICKIE
5:21 AM

A quickie before I hit the sack. I just got back from work. Suppose to knock off from work at 1am, but instead it got extended to 3am (closing). Extra 2 hours anyway - no big deal. Of all the slots that I have worked before, I must say that doing closing is the most fun.

Working an 8-hour shift [2pm-10pm] later. So I think I better get going before I look like a zombie in front of the customers. And gee, my voice is seriously killing me.

Husky - Definitely.
Sexy - Totally!

Hahaha! Nah, kidding. I am slowly losing my voice. Of having to project it so that the customer understands and are able to hear every single word is just painful. I won't be surprised if eventually, my vocal chords go on a "holiday".

Oh, yes.

Monday: 5pm - 10pm [5 hours]
Tuesday: 12pm - 8pm [8 hours]
Wednesday: OFF
Thursday: 2pm - 10pm [8 hours]
Friday: 12pm - 8pm [8 hours]
Saturday: 8pm - 3am [7 hours] CLOSING = YAY!
Sunday: 6pm - 12am [6 hours] CLOSING = Double YAY!
So much for being a part-timer. Well, at least it is better then waking up each day wondering what to do next. This will keep me occupied and hey, I am earning money at the same time. Looking forward to my first pay day. Gee, I would need more money to get my driving license over and done with. Have to clear it fast because my "membership" will be expiring soon. Then having to register and pay extra money would not be worth the saving up.

I am still waiting for money to come in from another party.

I am not money-minded. I don't look at things from money alone. I try to find the dedication and passion to do it (teaching/tutoring) and hence, being able to enjoy what I am doing. But clearing my driving license is an EMERGENCY.

Afterall, what belongs to me, belongs to me. True?

Alright, I think I have said too much.
I'm off!

Cheers!

SHE'S GORGEOUS!
2:59 AM

I think I have tortured you guys enough. Some of you probably would have scratched your head and wonder why I am acting all weird, talking so much about my new found love. The unveiling will be done later in the entry. I can guarantee you that.

So here is how we met.

I was in a shop on Sunday. So this jovial cheerful middle-aged woman, Ivy, introduced me to this simple girl (whom shall be named Wendy at the moment). But I guess I was blinded by the others that were in that shop. Being a total jerk, I minded my own business and neglected Wendy.

Ignoring her, I went for another girl (whom shall be named Priscilla), and soon realised I was not happy. "Why aren't I happy to know her? What am I not happy about knowing that she will be mine soon?", I questioned myself. A dark cloud hovered over me and I got mad at myself.

In the midst of all that, Jenny's Wendy's face was still fresh in my mind. The cold soft face she has shined out from the others. She illuminated the entire shop but regret soon came chasing after me, and that is when I realised I have made the biggest mistake of my life.

She has the nicest features that anyone could have asked for, yet I ignored. I went for looks rather than what is on the inside. How superficial I was! It took merely minutes for my senses to get knocked against - the wall that is.

I dumped Priscilla the next day because it was the right thing to do. It is of no point of me pursuing a girl who is not my cup of tea, and especially when my feelings for Priscilla was kinda fake. I called Ivy the following day and asked if she is in contact with Wendy - yes was the answer. I jumped for joy and requested for Wendy's number so that I can apologise and make it up to her.

I called Wendy and asked her out. Surprisingly, she agreed. I am irresistible, remember? Hahaha! ANYWAY, I could not wait no more and as each minute passes, my excitement grew. I was in love.

It's been long since I got so excited about a meet-up before.

>>> Fast forward >>>

We both decided to meet at 7.15 PM, Parkway Parade. When I arrived, as usual running a little late, I noticed she was nowhere to be seen. I sat and waited. Just like when you are waiting for your queue number to pop up on the screen. Yup, it was that exact same feeling :D

As minutes passed, questions came flashing through my mind.

"Has she left?"
"What if she is not coming?"

"What do I say the moment I see her?"
"How would I compliment her if she smells nice?"
"Where would I bring her next?"

More questions began flooding in my mind and finally, Wendy came. From afar, I noticed she was wearing this elegant black dress. I was extremely happy to see her.
"Oh my, she's gorgeous!", I said to myself. And from then on, I started believing that she was the perfect one for me. The meet-up was just how I pictured it.

She's mine now.

Ok, before I get all mushy and the yada-yadas, let me introduce you to my new love!

Sony Ericsson W902
Told you she's gorgeous!
The first Walkman phone with a 5.0 megapixel camera.
Elegant and sleek. What more can I ask for?

Just to clear things up a little.
  • W902 - 'W' for Wendy.
  • Samsung Preston - 'P' from Preston for Priscilla
  • Ivy - The lady working in that shop (M1 shop)
Now that you know it is a mobile phone I am talking about, do you see the connection to the story now? Haha!

A thousand apologies if I somehow cheated your feelings. Hahahaha!

I am done for now.
Terminator Salvation review is next!

Cheers!

For the record, I am still single. Haha!
(Not desperate though)
