I embed a lot of things from the net. But most of the time, I use my own pictures. Just in case I forget to do my acknowledgments,
at least I have given my thanks to the following:
But do come back time and time again. Goodbye Blogger.

MAJOR HIATUS
11:24 PM
Just to let my readers know that I am still alive :B
I am officially gonna put this blog on a major hiatus mode. Enlisting tomorrow morning. Will probably be back (hopefully alive) by the weekend of Christmas. Mixed feelings actually. I am really looking forward to the regimental stuffs, and also the physical training. I have my bag packed. All ready to go! Really hoping that I have cool bunk mates that we can build strong rapport with. To a more muscular me (sticks out tongue) in weeks to come! :) I am gonna give my all and participate fully. Yup!
No doubt, I'll miss a lot of people - Family, my cats and friends. Gonna miss the weekly routine with random people too. But oh well, great sacrifices have to be made when you are a Singapore citizen. That's alright I guess.
Anyway.... See all of you (with my newest and coolest haircut ever) soon! Cheers!
P/s: Keep an eye on my Twitter (@khai8t9). I might update it time and time again.
Finally got the chance to watch Charlie St Cloud. For a movie 99 minutes long, I think it wasn't enough to sufficed the emotions that arose. It was all moving too quickly. I was expecting the emotional peak of the movie to be higher and longer, but it was quickly diverted into the opposite - cheery, happy, funny. Too quickly that several different emotions were flooding, trying to register in my brain. I am sure many of you would agree with me. No doubt, I was on the verge of tearing but it was not enough to cause a tear to trickle down my cheek or create a reservoir on my lower eyelid for that matter. You may disagree with me on this.
But definitely, it is nice to see a movie that emphasise a lot between a love of a brother, to a brother. How often do you see those kind of movies? There were scenes in the movie that made me miss being a brother to someone. I am not talking about being the elder brother to my blood sister, but to the people whom I regard them as my siblings (unrelated siblings I would say). Everyone has grown up. Where has those days gone to? Watching the movie was rather nice and made me smile to myself time and time again.
Not only it touches on the issue of a love of a brother, it touches on the issue of letting go, and moving on. It was pretty heart-warming and the situation that occurred in the movie cushioned every single negativity. Something like "I guess it's alright. You're right. Time to move on".
I dare say that Charlie St. Cloud would be another chick-flick movie. But if you watch it with an open mind, I am sure you'll surpass the "Darn-I feel-like-a-faggot-now" period. If truth must be told, I was actually awing at Zac Efron's hair. Taken from one of my Tweets, I Tweeted "Why oh why is Zac's hair so perfect? Hahahaha!". AND it is also inevitable to not stare at his good looks. What? Can't a guy envy another guy's looks? It's normal, trust me. Haha!
Gonna close this entry off with a quote from the movie about taking chances,
"Trust your heart if the sea catches fire. Live by love though the stars walk backwards."
Just thought I would share the following video I got from Youtube - of scenes from the movie with an overlay soundtrack by Snow Patrol entitled "Run". Watching this gave me the goosebumps.
Yup, those are the 3 things in my wish list currently.
A Lenovo laptop
Apple iPod Touch 4G
Sony digital camera
After thinking it through, I do not have anything else I would want in the long run after I get my hands on these. Of course I would want to have my own car, but until I have a stable job with a considerable salary, that particular item should be on hold.
Just how am I going to pay for it? Pay with my hard-earned money of course. Haha! Gonna achieve one item at a time. Well, I single-handedly paid every single cent to obtain my driving licence which amounted to $2000 (estimate) <-- Long story as to why it amounted to $2K *sticks out tongue*. So I don't see the reason why I can't do it again. It is not going to be easy, but I'll give it a try.
To ease the situation a little, I have suggested financial "collaborations" with my parents, seeking slight sponsorship. Shall see how it goes. Heh. And as always, any form of sponsorship would be most welcomed! I'm done for tonight. Cheers!
And oh! I have updated my blog! Hoo-rah! Haha!

LAUGH OUT LOUD
1:16 PM
Has anyone seen this?
I think they are really good in what they are doing. Very entertaining.
Oh, if you have got the time, watch their other videos. Enjoy!
Again, we managed to maintain Gold for the biannual Singapore International Band Festival 2010. This time round, we competed in a tougher division (Open Division) with bands of high standards. We even competed with professionals from Hong Kong. Only difference is that this time round, we didn't sweep the top prize of $10,000 and the champion trophy for Open Division.
It was really a tough fight.
1st (Champion) - Hong Kong Festival Wind Orchestra: 91.83% 2nd - Maris Alumni Wind Ensemble: 90.83% 3rd - Philharmonic Youth Winds: 90. 67%
Nevertheless, receiving the gold award was really satisfying even though many of us had a tinge of disappointment. But at the end of the day, like how I've been telling my juniors back in my former secondary school, it's the experience, journey and lessons that we've picked along the way that makes us even better. Building up a community band is never easy. And I am glad and always honoured to be a member of the Philharmonic Youth Winds. We've come so far, and to think of it, I can't wait for the end-year concert in December. Making music with Phil Youth was never boring.
After reading the e-mail, typed by our resident conductor, positive feelings erupted in me as I read the second paragraph *winks*.
Last but not least, a huge thank you to Mr Chiang, Mr Cheong, Mr Leonard Tan, guest players, Phil Winds' musicians, supporters of Phil Youth, and of course, musicians of Phil Youth.
Been wanting to share this song but I keep forgetting. It's a really really nice song. Carrie Underwood is one of my top favourite female singers. She's just too awesome. Her songs, most of them are superbly done. And to add on, the scene that Carrie sits next to the old man lying on the bed, really breaks my heart :(
Nevertheless, a very emotional and listen-worthy song. Not only she's a really good singer, but she's a good actress as well. She'll go (in fact, already) big not only with singing, but acting as well. Time will tell.
I am very sure many would have heard of the song "Love The Way You Lie" by Rihanna, featuring Eminem. I really like this song. The angst and devotion of each separate party, reading the lyrics, I can picture exactly how it would be like if it was a short film. Contradictory words forms up the climax, the anger and emotional roller coaster ride is what makes this a good song. I'll usually pay extra close attention to the lyrics, then the tune. From there I'll decide if it's worth listening.
And if it's on my blog, hell yeah it's worth listening to.
I've been browsing through Youtube for song covers. Well that's what I'll usually do when I hear a song that I like. What's better than the original song when there are so many talented unsigned artists posting up their take on the song on Youtube.
So while browsing, I came across the following video. I think their take on the song is really good. In fact, I think it's the best cover I've seen. Unless you've heard better, drop a link on my tagboard *winks*.
Enjoy!
Gee, in times like this, I wished I had an iPod. When my next pay is in, I'm gonna get one. Still deciding which to get though. It's between iPod Touch and iPod Nano :/
Two days ago, Mom and Dad brought me to this Yong Tau Fu stall near Changi Road after I knocked off from a 10-hour shift. Mom claimed it is really darn good, so I was really looking forward to it. I went there all tired and left the place feeling happy and rejuvenated. Well, you might have guessed what my verdict is on the food. I tell you, it was really 'bagus' (Malay word for 'good')! Just like the name of the stall! Haha!

You'll be spoiled for choices. There are so many variations of Yong Tau Fu to choose from. You can actually choose for it to be served with La Mian (which my guess would be thinly sliced hand-made noodles). So, what did I pick?
This! It's Ampang style (with no La Mian served). The picture above is drool-worthy isn't it? And so was the real thing as I took the first spoonful of the heavenly creamy and spicy sauce. It was served with the usual sauces (black and chilli) and a bowl of really clean and refreshing spring onion soup. I can taste it in my mouth as I'm typing this! What I like the most is the sauce that showered every bit of the food items. It has this chilli crab feeling yet it's not. Really indescribable! It is really authentic because they re-fry the fried items to crispiness, and blanched the vegetables to perfection. The contrast of texture is really out of this world. Unlike some places, where they would just blanch it in hot water and "soggy-fy" the fried items.
The price is really affordable. With a cup of drink, $6 would be just nice. In the mood to have extra? They do have side-dishes. We tried the beancurd skin-wrapped chicken pieces, served with mayonnaise and chilli sauce. One word, yummy! I am certain that every side dish that's available is worth the money.
And in case you're wondering where the shop is located, it is along Changi road diagonally to Darul Aman Mosque. And in case you're wondering, it is marked with a circle that has an 'X' in it (referring to the picture above). It's opposite the old famous Restu restaurant. Die die must try. Me, being a Yong Tau Fu lover, that experience was truly uplifting! Bring your friends and family, and some cash of course, to give it a try. No regrets, I am very sure.
Out of 5 stars, how many would I give? 4.5! Now, that's a review!
The shop owner better give me incentives for promoting. You know, when there's a sudden increase of customers patronising the shop *raises both eyebrows up and down*. Haha!
